Graston Technique

Graston toolThe Graston Technique is a treatment that utilizes medical grade stainless steel tools in order to loosen and release scar tissue, adhesions, and fascial stiffness, and also increase local circulation and decrease muscle tone. It involves utilizing a handheld device to perform adjustments to spinal vertebrae and other body joints and muscles. It is an alternative to traditional adjustments, as it eliminates twisting- or cracking-type maneuvers and provides a comfortable yet effective correction. This technique is an ideal method that can be used on anyone, especially the young or the elderly.

The Graston Technique aims to effectively break down scar tissue and reduce inflammation that causes pain and restricted mobility. It can comb over and "catch" on fibrotic tissue, which immediately identifies areas of restriction. Chiropractors can then treat soft tissue lesions with the depth, pressure and specificity necessary to affect the condition at the site of the pain, as well as following the kinetic chain to find and treat the cause.

Other conditions treated include the following:

  • Acute and Chronic Pain
  • Back Pain
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Cervical Sprain/Strain (Neck Pain)
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Heel Spurs
  • Knee Pain (Runner's Knee)

  • Medial Epicondylosis/itis (Golfer's Elbow)
  • Muscle Strain
  • Nerve Entrapments
